The Balancing Rocks

The Matobo Hills commence some 35 kilometres south of Bulawayo, southern Zimbabwe. This area of granite kopjes and wooded valleys has been a holy place for the San and Mwari people for millennia.

The Matobo Hills area holds the highest concentration of San (Bushman) rock art in southern Africa. Over 3,000 paintings depict hunts, ceremonies, and wildlife.
